This presentation will outline root causes of an accident that occurred while contractors were applying a corrosion coating in an electric utility penstock.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
• Identify the hazards of applying corrosion coatings in confined spaces.
• Assess the impact of surface temperatures on quality of installing coatings.
• Discuss the impact of failure to properly set up air sampling.
• Determine the requirements for fire extinguishers.
• Implement properly planning for rescues.
• Train workers in a language they understand.
