Description

Discussions regarding the ban or permitted use of specific chemicals have been ongoing in the United States and around the world for decades. This year's Fellows Debate will focus on the pros and cons of banning chemicals such as asbestos. Debaters will offer rationale for banning the use of asbestos and for allowing its use to continue. Attendees will be encouraged to participate by voting their opinion on the subject before and after the debate. The team that earns the largest increase in opinion will be the winner of the debate.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

• Discuss the health risks and process risks associated with using or replacing asbestos in the workplace.
