In recent years, there has been a renewed focus on the ANSI/ASSP Z590.3 Standard, Prevention Through Design. What does this really mean for employers and industrial hygiene (IH), occupational safety (OS), and environment, health & safety (EHS) professionals? How do we effectively address occupational hazards and risks while designing, redesigning, and retrofitting processes? How do we increase productivity and focus reductions on injury/illness impacts while lowering operation costs? The answer is integration. This education session will discuss: a) the key principles for the Prevention Through Design; b) the changes between the 2011 standard issuance and the 2021 revalidation of ANSI/ASSP Z 590.3; c) integrating the elements of the ANSI/ASSP Z590.3 Standard, Prevention Through Design by IH/OS/EHS Professionals.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

• Establish analysis boundaries.
• Relate with subject matter experts.
• Communicate decisions to legal & management.
