Visualizing mathematical equations and formulas for the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) examination can enhance the comprehension and problem-solving skills of the exam takers. By doing so, candidates for the CIH exam can develop their critical thinking and go beyond the traditional knowledge for mathematics, enabling them to solve equations on the left-hand and right-hand sides faster, including unit conversions. Visualizing mathematical equations and formulas help a person: a) become more intuitive and less abstract; b) notice mistakes in the calculations; c) notice patterns, trends and anomalies; and d) better understand and solve scientific problems.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
• Determining which equations to use from the CIH examination equation sheet.
• Recognize how visual representations can make mathematical concepts easier to grasp.
• Decipher potential errors easier using visualization.
• Strengthen their problem solving skills for the CIH examination.
• Develop insights in higher-dimensional mathematical spaces.
• Demonstrate conceptual clarity by understanding the mathematical concepts.
