Education Session
Greater Columbus Convention Center
Room: A 125
CM Credit Hours: 1
Over the past four years, there has been accelerated development and implementation of IAQ improvements and monitoring technologies. Several factors have contributed to these rapid developments. This acceleration over time has allowed a comprehensive examination and comparison to determine the efficacy, safety, ease of implementation, maintenance, energy use, and cost-effectiveness of the new technologies. This session will provide technical background information and an overview of various technology categories that may be considered when the need for cost-effective monitoring and improvement of IAQ arises, especially with the ever-growing need for impacting climate change and facility energy costs.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
• Provide a review of the science and regulatory drivers of IAQ awareness.
• Develop and perform facility risk assessment approaches and tools.
• Examine qualitative and laboratory quantitative standards.
• Present an overview of technology purposes, efficacies, energy impact and cost-effectiveness.
• Formulate an approach for exposure and control banding technologies for selection and application.
• Anticipate the impact of climate change on IAQ.
• Apply the session information to case studies.
