How do I accelerate my IH career? Should I pursue a bachelor's or master's degree? Should I get my CIH? How much experience do I need? Like most good questions, the best answer is: It depends. There are many factors to consider (e.g., family, flexibility, finances, etc.). This education session will explore opportunities available to all IH's for advancing their career. Topics to be discussed include: a) the advantages and disadvantages of a degree; b) CIH certification; c) the AIHA 2019 salary data; d) different career types and options; and e) accelerating your career using small and large groups. The objective of this interactive session is to assist participants in characterizing and developing their career goals, along with a basic plan for achieving them. Participants will learn about educational, certification, and experiential opportunities available to them.

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

• Identify available educational, certification, and experiential opportunities.
• Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the above opportunities.
• Describe the advantages and disadvantages of available career options.
• Develop a basic plan for advancing their career.
