In recent times, there has been a concerning trend of rejection and skepticism towards the expertise of young Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) professionals in the workplace. This presentation will include testimonies from young OEHS professionals and aims to explore the root causes of this issue and propose strategies to foster a more inclusive and collaborative environment that values the insights and contributions of young OEHS professionals.
1. Upon completion the participant will be able to articulate the challenges encountered by young OEHS professionals in establishing recognition for their expertise.
2. Upon completion the participant will gain an appreciation for the significance of diversity in experience and perspectives within OEHS teams, recognizing its impact on holistic problem-solving and innovation.
3. Upon completion the participant will acquire actionable strategies to effectively bridge the generation gap in the workplace within the context of OEHS, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
