Description

Enzymes play a crucial role in various industries(detergents to pharmaceuticals to biofuels). Their presence in the workplace can pose various health risks from irritation to occupational asthma to permanent lung damage. This session will provide: 1) an overview of enzymes; 2) the industries affected; 3) the health concerns; and 4) the latest guidelines and research on occupational exposure limits. Attendees will learn: a) best practices for enzyme sampling; b) considerations for ensuring sample accuracy; c) the complexities of enzyme analysis; and d) the challenges that are often overlooked. Participants will gain actionable insights to manage enzyme exposures with industry best practices, and ultimately enhance worker protection.
