O5: Managing Roof Hazards on a Multi-Campus Healthcare Organization
Wed, 5/21: 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM CDT
00578
Education Session
Kansas City Convention Center
Room: 3501 D
CM Credit Hours: 1
Roof safety risks are widespread; each with unique scenarios and EHS challenges. From structural high rises, historic homes, modern flagship buildings, and multi-addition complexes; roof safety regulatory standards and compliance vary based on use, year of design, and construction types. From a no-roof safety infrastructure to state-of-the-art controls, follow one organization through the use of: 1) a risk assessment process to prioritize improvement; 2) asset management systems; and 3) geographic information systems (GIS), to ensure a fully compliant roof safety program. The risks are high, and the effort to bring the organization toward full safety compliance is critical. Learn how patterns were developed, and strategies deployed for effective solutions, for an ultimately safe work environment.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
• Manage the regulatory components of a roof safety program.
• Communicate the risk assessment process to senior leadership.
• Define the relationship between engineering and inspection contractors.
• Implement asset management programs and GIS to manage data.
