Description

You have been assigned to work with a team to prepare a emergency response (ER) plan for your location. What process(es) will be used to plan for emergencies? How will the team ensure that they have developed the best response plan? How do the local emergency responders fit into your planning? This session includes case studies and lessons learned from organizations that have assembled teams to develop and exercise emergency response plans. Discussion will include how the National Incident Management System can be used for emergency planning.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

• Assess our role as crisis communicators in response planning.
• Identify organizational members critical for emergency response planning.
• Use ER planning to strengthen an organization's safety culture.
• Utilize the National Incident Management System for ER planning.
• Apply the lessons learned from previous emergencies.
