Wed, 5/21: 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM CDT
00529
Education Session
Kansas City Convention Center
Room: 3501 C
CM Credit Hours: 1
Chemical transparency is increasingly essential for modern safety. Persistent organic pollutants (POPs), carcinogens, and substances of very high concern (SVHCs) pose significant risks. Legislation often lacks the detail and proactive measures necessary for proper safety. Some of the world's chemical companies have withheld research data for decades, concealing evidence of their products' toxicity and bioaccumulation. This negligence has prompted scientists to advocate for better systems focusing on human and environmental protection. Current research is developing tools to enhance chemical transparency and safety. AI is used to summarize large volumes of data, making it accessible to the broader community. This helps ensure consumer products address health and environmental concerns. Interactive tools for chemical management and transparency will be vital in promoting safety and protecting health and the environment. We can create a safer, more transparent world by leveraging advanced technology and working together.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
• Incorporate smart systems to improve safety and compliance.
• Enhance chemical transparency through AI and other tools.
• Manage persistent organic pollutants (POPs), carcinogens, and SVHCs.
• Recognize legislative gaps, manufacturers' responsibilities, and the community's roles.
• Implement technical approaches to comply with regulations and research.
• Identify proactive measures can take to ensure a safer transparent industry.
