Description

This advanced session is designed for industrial hygiene professionals who are ready to move beyond the fundamentals of noise dosimetry and maximize the capabilities of modern instrumentation. Building on a foundation of core knowledge, the course will emphasize advanced applications, including software integration, audio recording features, and enhanced data analysis.

Participants will learn how to use these tools to pinpoint noise sources, correlate exposure levels with specific job tasks, and produce actionable reports that go beyond compliance-supporting worker training, communication, and the evaluation of engineering controls.

The session will also address techniques for combining and manipulating datasets from multiple monitoring sources, equipping attendees with a more strategic, systems-based approach to noise exposure assessment and control.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
• Utilize advanced dosimeter features including audio recording, software integration, and analytic functions to conduct comprehensive noise exposure assessments.
• Differentiate and correlate noise levels with specific job tasks and work activities to isolate high-risk exposure sources.
•. Interpret and apply key noise terminology and metrics by distinguishing between common parameters such as Lavg, Leq, Lmax, and peak.
• Create detailed reports that translate monitoring results into actionable information for compliance, worker training, and engineering control evaluation.
• Integrate and manipulate datasets from multiple instruments and sources to develop a systems-based approach to noise exposure assessment.
• Formulate evidence based recommendations for noise control strategies by applying insights gained from advanced data analysis.
