Leadership is influence. One of the most powerful abilities we have is the capacity to influence behavior. Yet many leaders struggle to do so effectively when it matters most.
Leadership isn't just about crafting inspiring visions, developing breakthrough products or outlining business growth strategies. It's about mobilizing others to achieve the vision, build the product or carry out the plan. At its core, leadership is intentional influence. If behavior isn't changing, leadership isn't happening.
Crucial Influence® teaches essential leadership skills for professionals at every level. Based on five decades of social science research and insights from successful leaders around the world, the Crucial Influence Model explains why people behave the way they do—and how leaders can influence lasting change.
This one-day, in-person workshop combines group discussion, real-time practice, coaching and peer support. It offers a hands-on learning experience rooted in adult development principles.

Business Case/IH Value Statement
The 2018 AIHA Leadership Workshop revealed a critical gap. Clifton Strengths™ data from attending leaders identified 'influencing' as the top growth opportunity for the IH community. While we excel at data analysis and strategic thinking, we struggle when it comes to influencing safe behaviors and gaining buy-in, especially when implementing engineering controls. Too often, we settle for compromised solutions that fall short of our vision.
