Activate multiemployer occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) communications to advance the "Focus Four for Health". This course explores risk communication strategies and actions, multiemployer workplace obligations, and the management of exposure to common hazards in construction environments—including manual material handling, noise, air contaminants and high temperatures.
Controlling health hazards in multiemployer workplaces requires strategic communication that goes beyond contractor qualification and compliance checkboxes. Attendees will gain tools and takeaways for integrating the "Focus Four for Health" into daily OEHS management.
Interactive activities will merge available guidance and best practices for managing major construction health hazards with next-level communications that promote partnerships. Participants will conduct rapid hazard identification by compiling precursors, risk factors and subtle indicators of illness and injury.
The course includes a review of organizational contractor safety management programs to identify opportunities for advancing the "Focus Four for Health" within contractual obligations. Attendees will also develop a communications tool to put ideas into action—incorporating stakeholder identification, feedback loops, effectiveness measures and continuous improvement processes that adapt to changing workplace conditions and emerging health challenges.
*Please note: Only participants registering for two (2) half-day PDCs on the same day will receive a box lunch. **Please note: power strips will not be provided at each attendee's seat; however, charging stations for laptops will be provided in each course room.
