Exposure assessment is a foundational system in the industrial and occupational hygiene profession. It serves as the basis for documenting hazard evaluations. This course follows the "Strategy for Assessing and Managing Occupational Exposures" and equips practitioners with the tools and training needed to complete an exposure assessment system for their workplaces.
Topics include establishing an exposure assessment strategy, conducting basic characterization and information gathering, forming similar exposure groups, applying professional judgment to evaluate and rank exposure profiles and determining reassessment cycles. Participants engage in hands-on workshops that reinforce concepts through multimedia examples.
The strategy aligns with the "Principles of Good Practice" and introduces free tools from AIHA for participants to use. By the end of the course, participants will have a solid foundation in exposure assessment and a clear understanding of next steps for advancing their skills in this area.
*Registration includes boxed luncheon. **Power strips will not be provided at each attendee's seat; however, laptop charging stations will be provided in each course room.
